Hickory takes State with a 32-31 victory over the mighty Muncie Central Bearcats. Hickory was led by Jimmy Chitwood with 19 points, while also knocking down the game winning shot at the final buzzer. Buddy and Ray also played well as Buddy held the Bearcats leading scorer to a season low 9 points. After the game Buddy said coach Dale told him to stick to him like chewing gum. Hickory becomes the smallest school to every win a State Championship!
